I'm so glad you're here!

This little corner of my site is where I get to slow down and share what's happening behind the paintings. The inspiration, the process, the happy accidents, and the ideas that keep pulling me back to the paper.

I'm Rachel, a mixed media and watercolor artist based in Clearwater, Florida. I'm a mom of two littles with a full-time job, and I paint in the pockets of time that life allows. Weekends, quiet afternoons, the occasional late night. Somehow, that stolen time has grown into something I'm genuinely proud of and the art feeds my soul.

Right now I'm deep into a botanical series that started in the most unexpected way. I had a spot on my wall that was far too bare for my liking, so I painted a giant monstera to fill it. That painting sparked everything. There's something about the drama of a leaf, the color, the shape, the way light moves through it, that I can't seem to get enough of. Letting watercolor flow and find its own way makes each piece feel like a small discovery. And honestly, painting them is a nice addition to my space too — I may already have far too many plants!

In The Studio I'll be sharing process snapshots, the stories behind new work, what's inspiring me, and an honest look at what it means to make art alongside a full and busy life.
